Rich Gordon joined the Trabuco Hills
High School Instrumental Music staff in the Winter of 2004 as the
Pit Arranger & Instructor and is currently in his 4th year.
He is also currently the Percussion Caption Head at Anaheim High
School. Previously, he instructed at Cypress High School, John F.
Kennedy High School. Magnolia High School, Western High School and
Saddleback High School. Rich is currently the Director at Sycamore
Junior High School in Anaheim, California. Rich also performs frequently
as a percussionist at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure.
Rich received a Bachelor of Arts in
Music Education from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF)
in Fullerton, California in January of 2002. Rich is a percussionist
for the California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) Wind Ensemble,
Symphonic Band and Percussion Ensemble. He also works as a Percussionist
for Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
Rich graduated from John F. Kennedy
High School in Anaheim, California in June of 1997. While in high
school, Rich played saxophone and was a Percussionist. Rich marched
as a Percussionist with the Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps
in the summer of 1998 and with Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle
Corps in the summer of 1999.
Rich is affiliated with several organizations
such as the Music Educators National Conference, Southern California
School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA), Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia
- a professional music fraternity, Orange County Musicians’
Association, Local 7 and American Federation of Musicians. His honors
include the Rita Fuszek Music Scholarship Recipient from California
State University, Fullerton (CSUF), Instrumental Music Education
Student of the Year in 2001 from California State University, Fullerton
(CSUF) and a member of the 1999 Drum Corps International (DCI) World
Champion Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps. Outside of
the musical arena, Rich enjoys physical fitness, traveling, reading,
writing and chess. |
