For the 2007-2008 school year, Robert
Bowen will be in his 9th year as a Percussion Instructor, with this
being his fifth year as the Percussion Caption Head. Robert Bowen has been the percussion instructor at Trabuco Hills High School since 1999. In this time Robert has taught many high schools throughout Southern California and has created a reputation of having solid percussion ensembles.
Robert started playing percussion when he was a sophomore at Trabuco Hills HS just by luck. He happened to be hanging out one day after school when his friend let him know they were having drumline tryouts and needed more people. As we can see he made it and had the pleasure of being instructed by Mike Jackson. While in high school Robert went and marched West Coast Sound Drum and Bugle Corps on snare. After high school Robert marched Black Knights Drum Corps 2002 and 2003 on snare where they won a WGI Silver Medal. After aging out Robert became the snare tech at Impulse and mystical D&B corps.
Over the 9 years Robert has been teaching percussion his groups have won 1 WGI medal, 1 RMPA medal, 5 SCPA medals and numerous 1st place awards during marching season and 2nd semester.
Robert is endorsed by Promark sticks and mallets and would like to thank them for the great things they do for his groups. Robert would also like to say thanks to Mike Jackson for all of the great advice that he has given him. Last, but not least, Robert would like to thank his wife Lorena for understanding the time commitment that this activity takes. |
