Trabuco
Hills High School, a member of the
Saddleback Valley Unified School District (SVUSD), is located
in Mission Viejo, California. The instrumental music program boasts
locally, regionally and nationally recognized competing units
such as the Thundering
Mustangs Marching Unit, Color
Guard, Percussion
Ensemble, Symphonic
Orchestra, Wind
Ensemble, Symphonic
Winds, Jazz Ensemble
and Pep Band. In 2001,
Trabuco Hills High School was recognized as one of the four schools
in the state to receive the
California Distinguished School of Fine Arts award.
For the 2010-2011 school year, the Trabuco
Hills High School Instrumental Music Program will be the proud host
to one of the largest and the last Western Band
Association (WBA) circuit show in Southern California before
the WBA Marching Band Championships the following weekend in
Fresno, California. The 18th Annual Tournament in the Hills
will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010.
This tournament is the MAJOR
fundraiser for the entire instrumental music program. Consequently,
we require that EVERY PARENT involved in any
aspect of the instrumental music program (band, guard, orchestra
and jazz ensemble) to volunteer in one way or another!!! We will also
host the 7th Annual Jazz in the Hills in Spring 2011 ~ date to be announced. SAVE BOTH THESE
DATES!!!
Bingo, held every Thursday night in the THHS Multipurpose Room and run exclusively by the music boosters is, along with Tournament in the Hills, a MAJOR fundraiser. Volunteering or playing is a great way to help the program, meet other boosters, and have a lot of fun. Proceeds go into the general fund of the Boosters and benefit all students in the Instrumental Music Program. Check out our website at thhsmusicboostersbingo.com.
