MATT MENAGED
For the 2021-2022 school year, Matt Menaged will be his 5th year as a Marching Instructor for the Thundering Mustangs Marching Unit at Trabuco Hills High School.
Matt Menaged is a professional bassist. He is also a drill designer and visual instructor for several award-winning high school marching bands in Southern California. As a bassist, Matt had his first paying gig at the age of 14 and decided right then to make a music a career. He’s done numerous national tours with various bands, his most recent touring stint was with the Harlis Sweetwater Band. Matt toured throughout the US with them from 2014-2016 playing blues festivals as well as opening for such guitar legends as Ace Frehley, George Thorogood and Walter Trout. He is currently teaching privately and works with local studios as a session bassist.
Matt started his marching arts career as a visual instructor at Savanna High School in Anaheim in 1991 and was the visual caption head and drill writer from 1996-2000. Matt was also the visual caption head at Torrance High School from 2002-2016. Matt is currently a visual instructor at Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps and Trabuco Hills High School. He is the visual caption head and drill designer at La Mirada High School and is a staff consultant at Torrance High School.
When not consumed with music and the marching arts, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, is an avid board gamer and is a serious hockey and baseball fan.
